Phoebe Brack
Choreographer – Director – Maker
Welcome
I move through worlds where nature meets geometry, where films and underground scenes collide with flamenco rhythms, hiphop beats, and the silent poetry of mime. My work is shaped by the absurd edge of dark comedy—think Bottom, Fawlty Towers, or Monty Python—alongside the raw presence of animals, the depth of arts & social science, and the playful curiosity of objects and puppetry.
As an independent Choreographer & Movement Director, I explore movement not just as dance, but as story, atmosphere, and idea. My creations borrow from contemporary movement, physical theatre, object theatre, and puppetry—spaces where humor, rhythm, and strangeness can coexist. They are infused with the raw passion of flamenco dance, the colourful cheerfulness of Bollywood movement, and the captivating, enchanting rhythms and drumming of the Amazigh people of the Sahara—a convergence of cultures and energies that celebrate the body as both instinct and imagination.
My practice thrives on collaboration. I am drawn to unexpected meetings of disciplines, wild experiments, and the spark of mad movement ideas. Whether you’re a filmmaker, musician, theatre-maker, dancer, or someone simply curious about what movement can unlock, I’m open to shaping new projects together.
If you’d like to connect or propose a collaboration, just send me a message—let’s see where the movement takes us.

“Working with Phoebe Brack on the children’s theater performance Kommetje Plasticsoep was a truly inspiring experience. She listens carefully, develops creative ideas with care, and translates them beautifully into the world of children while staying true to the IKEA vision.

“We believe that as an artist you are a strong fit within the Urban Projects program. Based on our conversation and the submitted plan, it is clear that you are driven to bring greater recognition to puppet and object theater in combination with dance, while also making different cultures – including Jewish and Arab – more accessible to young audiences.
You aim to achieve this by creating a theatrical object and puppet theater performance that weaves together rap music, breakdance, and flamenco. With this project, you are taking a logical next step in your artistic career. The attached script provides us with a clear picture of the performance, showing how the story is told through text, dance, and music.
We find it particularly compelling how you bring together Jewish and Arab culture in a shared exploration of identity.”
— Fonds Podiumkunsten

She creates meaningful, high-quality productions with great attention to detail, from thorough research and strong artistic vision to designing and making her own props.
